Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Per Diem Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in venipuncture and specimen collection and be comfortable working in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and patient homes. This is a flexible, on-call position based on client needs and your availability.
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Per Diem Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in venipuncture and specimen collection and be comfortable working in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and patient homes. This is a flexible, on-call position based on client needs and your availability.
Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood collections following proper procedures
- Verify patient identification and accurately label specimens
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following infection control protocols
- Handle and transport specimens safely and according to policy
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient comfort and safety
- Adapt to various environments and work independently or as part of a team
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program
- Current Phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum of 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if traveling between sites or to patient homes)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to short-notice assignments
Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
