Job Summary: 

HiHealthCare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality healthcare services in a correctional facility setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent critical-thinking skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and secure environment. This role requires at least 2-3 years of corrections experience or 3-5 years of hospital experience

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated individuals, including assessments, treatments, and medication administration.

  • Conduct patient evaluations and develop appropriate care plans in compliance with facility policies and state regulations.

  • Respond to medical emergencies, triage patient conditions, and coordinate with physicians and healthcare providers.

  • Administer medications, wound care, and other prescribed treatments in accordance with protocols.

  • Monitor patient progress and document findings in electronic medical records (EMR).

  • Educate patients on disease prevention, hygiene, and medication adherence.

  • Maintain security protocols while delivering patient care in a controlled environment.

  • Collaborate with correctional officers, mental health professionals, and other medical staff to ensure comprehensive care.

  • Adhere to all state, federal, and correctional facility regulations and guidelines.


Qualifications & Requirements:
 
  • Active RN license in Hawaii.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a correctional facility OR 3-5 years of hospital experience in medical-surgical, ER, or critical care settings.

  • Current BLS/CPR certification (ACLS preferred).

  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to function effectively in a high-pressure and secure environment.

Compensation: $50.00 per hour
